Dr. Sohn was born in South Korea and grew up in McLean, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, and fell in love with what North Carolina has to offer. She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Sohn continued her education at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she served as chief resident, and earned her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and her Master of Science degree.
In her free time, Dr. Sohn enjoys baking, practicing yoga, and spending time with her 1-year-old son, Noah.
Research
Dr. Sohn's Master's thesis was titled "Caregivers Experiences with Oral Health Care of Foster Children in North Carolina". Her work focused on highlighting the experiences and concerns from caregivers regarding seeking oral health care for their foster children, and identifying opportunities in which the oral health experience for a foster child can be improved.
